Popsicle Bridge
I've always wanted to become an engineer, so logically when I was given the chance to take a course that would look into some of the design aspects of the field I jumped straight in. The project was to design and build a popsicle bridge that could hold the maximum amount of weight possible. The weights would be in a bucket that would be tied to the bottom of the bridge meaning that all of the weight was centered on a single section of the bridge. Despite this our 125g bridge managed to hold 35lbs (15875.7g) and both my friend and I were quite proud of it.
CAD Toy Car
Another project I had in the past was to create a toy car using the CAD software Solidworks that could be then be recreated and printed out using a 3D-printer. This was very challenging because you had to design something that was real and actually worked. The wheels had to turn and all the pieces had to fit together perfectly or your design had failed. This project remains to me as one of the few things in school that has really shown me what it would be like to work in a particular profession both the positives and negatives and remains one of the few projects that I can be really proud to show off.

Soldered Circuit Board
This particular assignment was a really fun and simple assignment that taught me how to use a soldering iron in order to solder together a simple circuit. The circuit itself is very simple and uses a 555 timer in order to make a small LED light blink on and off, which is powered by a 9 volt battery.

Indifference Photo Essay
In this assignment I was tasked to create a photo essay that depicted the main theme or thesis of a text of my choice. I decided to pick Elie Wiesel's The Perils of Indifference speech because it not only moved my but I believe it also highlights many of the problems we are facing today in the world.

Effects of Caffeine on Plants - Lab
|
For this final project I was tasked along with three other peers to create our own lab from scratch. The goal was to learn something about plants whether it be their growth or other when they were placed in certain scenarios, in this case growing in a mixture of soil and coffee grounds. This project took a lot of time and effort to not only care for the plants but also monitor them as well. Unfortunately due to time constraints and some seeds not sprouting we didn't end up with the result we expected but regardless the project certainly taught us what it was like to be a scientist.
